Job summary

JSW Steel Limited in Pen, Maharashtra, seeks an Area Incharge to oversee quality assurance in the Iron Zone. The role leads QA initiatives, ensures compliance with industry standards, and drives continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

You will coordinate with production, maintenance and engineering, implement robust inspection protocols, conduct regular audits, and mentor the QA team to achieve operational excellence in a high-volume steel environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.
• Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, CQE or equivalent are highly desirable.
• 5 to 12 years of experience in quality assurance within steel manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the quality assurance team within the Iron Zone to ensure adherence to JSW Steel's quality standards and manufacturing specifications.
• Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures and inspection protocols to maintain product integrity and compliance with industry regulations.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and engineering departments to identify and resolve quality issues promptly, minimizing downtime and defects.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, equipment, and finished products to ensure compliance with ISO and other relevant certifications.
• Analyze quality data and generate detailed reports to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for process improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality methodologies to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies within the quality assurance operations in the Iron Zone.
• Train, mentor, and develop quality assurance personnel to build a skilled and motivated team capable of meeting organizational goals.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure raw materials meet quality requirements and support supply chain quality management.
• Manage documentation related to quality assurance activities, including non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and compliance records.
