Job summary

JSW Steel Coated Products Limited seeks a seasoned Head of Quality with 20–25 years in large-scale manufacturing, preferably steel. The role leads quality systems, drives continuous improvement, and aligns with ISO standards.

You will train staff, coordinate with PD and HR, and guide corrective actions to reduce defects and improve process capability. You will need strong analytical skills, business acumen, and leadership to propel product quality and compliance across multiple steel grades and

Qualifications

• BE (Mechanical or Metallurgy) with 20–25 years of experience in a large manufacturing/steel environment.
• Strong learning agility and business acumen.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving in quality management.

Responsibilities

• Impart awareness training on ISO-9001:2008, ISO-14001:2004, ISO 22000, and ISO 45000.
• Identify areas for product development and drive quality improvements.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions for internal rejection and customer complaints.
• Provide statistics for internal rejections and customer complaints for process reviews.
• Ensure compliance with national/international standards for HRP late plate, tinplate, CRC, GI/GL products.
• Coordinate daily with PD Dept. on process parameter data for corrective actions.
• Decide on nonconformity handling per PD & PP departments.
• Ensure calibration processes are followed for equipment under calibration control.
• Plan and monitor inspection/test status for WIP products.
• Identify training needs and coordinate with HR to implement schemes.
• Participate in contract reviews.

Critical Tasks

• To impart awareness training to all the personnel on ISO-9001:2008std. & ISO -14001:2004, ISO22000, ISO 45000.
• To identify Areas of product development.
• Initiation & implementation of corrective & preventive actionagainst internal rejection and customer complaint.
• To provide statistical analysis for internal rejection and customercomplaint as the input for process meeting.
• To control National / International std. of all the dept. for H.R.Plate, Tinplate, CRC, GI/GL product.
• To have daily co-ordination with PD Dept. based on the processparameter data for corrective & preventive action
• Decision on control of nonconformity product in accordance with PD& PP dept.
• To ensure the calibration is properly following the equipment which isunder calibration control by the dept.
• To prepare & monitor the scheme for inspection & test statusfor the WIP product.
• To identify training needs for employees of dept. & co-ordinationwith HR dept. for providing the scheme
• To participate in contract review.
