Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor QA protocols for BOF operations to ensure compliance with industry standards and policies.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations and process non-conformities.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and R&D to optimise metallurgical processes and enhance product quality.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of BOF processes, equipment, and output for improvements and risk mitigation.
• Prepare detailed quality reports and present findings to senior management for decision-making.
• Drive continuous improvement projects using Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality methodologies to increase efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations within QA framework.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and QA staff on quality standards and inspection techniques.
• Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality benchmarks and ensure raw material compliance.
• Stay updated with advancements in metallurgical engineering and QA technologies relevant to mining and metals.

The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in the Blast Oxygen Furnace (BOF) operations. This position requires a seasoned engineering professional with a strong background in metallurgical processes, quality control systems, and regulatory adherence. The role demands collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement, implement robust quality management frameworks, and support operational excellence in a complex industrial environment.
