Job summary

Fives Maintenance is seeking a QA Inspector to ensure compliance with drawings, ITPs and standards across welding, machining, fabrication and assembly processes. You will inspect raw materials, perform NDT activities and verify documentation, contributing to the overall quality of components and projects.

The role requires capability to coordinate with internal teams and suppliers, maintain records and support site inspections at vendor locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality issues and support root-cause analysis and CAPA actions.
• Ensure inspections follow drawings, ITPs, procedures and standards.
• Continuously improve inspection practices and quality control processes.
• Stay updated with inspection standards, NDT techniques, welding and quality practices.
• Inspect incoming materials (slabs, bars, cast items) prior to use.
• Read/interpret drawings, specifications, procedures and quality docs.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections.
• Coordinate NDT (VT/PT/MT/UT/RT) per procedures and standards.
• Inspect welding, fit-up, parameters and weld quality.
• Verify dimensional accuracy during machining.
• Inspect assemblies per drawings and requirements.
• Inspect surface prep, coating and related quality.
• Verify certificates, test reports and quality docs.
• Identify non-conformities and follow up corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, engineering and procurement and suppliers.
• Monitor progress and support expediting to meet milestones.
• Maintain inspection records and quality documentation.
• Support inspections at vendor/manufacturer locations and sites.
• Basic understanding of process line equipment.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Coordinate with teams, suppliers and third-party agencies.
• Collaborate across manufacturing, engineering, production and quality.
• Coordinate with suppliers on inspection requirements and corrective actions.
• Support cross-functional teams in identifying manufacturing risks.

• Identify quality issues, non-conformities and recurring defects and support root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Ensure inspection activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures and applicable codes and standards.
• Continuously improve inspection practices and quality control processes.
• Stay updated with applicable inspection standards, NDT techniques, welding requirements and manufacturing quality practices.

• Inspect incoming raw materials such as slabs, plates, round bars, forged items, cast items and other manufactured components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection procedures and quality documentation.
• Carry out visual inspection and dimensional inspection of components and assemblies.
• Perform and/or coordinate NDT activities including VT, PT, MT, UT and RT as per approved procedures and applicable standards.
• Inspect welding and fabrication activities, including fit-up, welding parameters, weld appearance and final weld quality.
• Monitor machining activities and verify dimensional accuracy against approved drawings and specifications.
• Inspect assembly activities and ensure components are assembled according to approved drawings and requirements.
• Inspect surface preparation and painting activities, including surface condition, coating application and related quality requirements.
• Verify material certificates, inspection reports, test reports and other quality documentation.
• Identify and report non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.

• Coordinate with production, engineering, procurement, suppliers and subcontractors to resolve quality-related issues.
• Monitor manufacturing progress and support expediting activities to ensure inspection milestones and delivery schedules are maintained.
• Maintain inspection records, NDT reports, quality documentation and other relevant reports.
• Support inspection activities at vendor/manufacturer locations and project sites as required.
• Basic understanding of process line equipment and related manufacturing activities.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Ability to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, customers and third-party inspection agencies.
