Job summary

VMax Health Tech is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with around 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing and test automation. The role focuses on ensuring the quality of web and mobile applications through manual and automated testing, API validation, and collaboration with product and development teams.

You will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium, and work with Postman for API testing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on software testing and test automation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; testing certifications preferred.
• Experience with at least one automation tool/framework (Playwright/Selenium/Cypress/Appium).
• Experience testing web and mobile apps in an Agile environment.
• Strong knowledge of API testing and backend data validation.
• Good scripting knowledge, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.

Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and prepare test cases and data.
• Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing on web/mobile apps.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps and evidence.
• Retest defects and perform regression testing before releases.
• Conduct API testing using Postman and validate responses.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to improve quality.
• Maintain test scripts and documentation; use Git for code work.
• Contribute to CI/CD and testing process improvements.

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with around 3 years of hands‑on experience in software testing and test automation. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of software testing fundamentals and practical experience with at least one modern automation testing tool or framework. The role involves ensuring the quality of our web and mobile applications through effective manual and automated testing, defect management, API testing, and close collaboration with product and development teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Understand product requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and exploratory testing for web and mobile applications.
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing before releases.
• Perform API testing and validation using tools such as Postman.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other team members to understand requirements and improve product quality.
• Maintain test cases, automation scripts, and testing documentation.
• Use Git or similar version‑control tools for automation code and collaboration.
• Improve and maintain automation frameworks, reusable test components, and testing best practices used by the organization.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Eligibility:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in software testing, including hands‑on automation testing experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field.
• Software Testing / Automation Testing certification is preferred.
• Strong hands‑on experience with at least one automation testing tool or framework such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Experience testing production web and/or mobile applications and working within an Agile product development environment is required.

Required Skills:

• Good understanding of software testing fundamentals, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques, test‑case design, test execution, and regression planning.
• Strong understanding of automation testing concepts, framework design, and test maintenance.
• Hands‑on experience with automation tools/frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Good programming or scripting knowledge, preferably JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Hands‑on API testing experience using Postman or a similar tool.
• Good SQL knowledge and ability to perform backend data validation.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Good analytical, logical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify application issues.
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn and work collaboratively.

Preferred / Added Advantage:

• Hands‑on exposure to Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Understanding of Page Object Model (POM) or similar automation design patterns.
• Exposure to Selenium, Cypress, or Appium.
• Experience integrating or executing automated tests through CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter.
• Experience testing live web and/or mobile applications in a production environment.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Participation in testing projects, hackathons, or relevant technical communities.
• Passion for fitness and an understanding of the impact of diet and nutrition on consumer health.

Certification Requirement:

A recognized Software Testing or Automation Testing certification is preferred. Candidates should have practical, professional experience with software testing concepts and at least one automation testing tool or framework such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or Appium. Hands‑on experience with Playwright using JavaScript or TypeScript will be preferred.
