Job summary

Aumni Techworks in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 7+ years of hands-on experience to build and maintain automation frameworks for modern web applications. The role involves Playwright and Cypress, API testing, and frontend validation in an Agile environment.

You will design scalable test frameworks, develop tests with JavaScript/TypeScript, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality releases.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in QA Automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Jest, and Storybook.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with API automation and testing using Axios.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, DOM and modern JS workflows.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with 7+ years of hands‑on experience in building and maintaining automation frameworks for modern web applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in JavaScript-based automation technologies, API testing, and frontend testing, with a passion for delivering high-quality software in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, UI, and end-to-end testing.
• Build automation solutions using Playwright and Cypress.
• Create and maintain test scripts using JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Perform API testing and automation using Axios and other relevant tools.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain test documentation, automation reports, and quality metrics.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in QA Automation with strong expertise in designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with Playwright, Cypress, Jest, and Storybook.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python.
• Experience with API automation and testing using Axios.
• Good understanding of Vite, npm, and modern JavaScript development workflows.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, DOM, and browser behavior.
• Experience with BrowserStack and cross‑browser compatibility testing.
• Familiarity with Git, Slack, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Understanding of SDLC, STLC, defect lifecycle, and software testing best practices.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems is preferred.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience testing React or other modern frontend applications.
• Exposure to cloud‑based testing environments.
• Knowledge of performance and accessibility testing is an added advantage.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
