Job summary

Mantras2Success is seeking a QA Automation Engineer with strong manual testing fundamentals and hands-on API, automation, and performance testing exposure. You will work on functional testing, Playwright automation, API testing with Postman, and load testing with JMeter while collaborating with the Senior QA Automation Engineer.

Responsibilities include designing test scenarios, performing diverse testing types, API validation, and building automated UI and API tests.

• Log defects in Jira and coordinate with developers for resolution.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong manual testing fundamentals and hands-on exposure to API, automation, and performance testing. The role will involve functional testing, Playwright automation, API testing using Postman, and load testing using JMeter while working closely with developers and the Senior QA Automation Engineer.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyse requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases using appropriate test design techniques.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct API testing using Postman, including collections, environments, scripts, authentication, and response validation.
• Develop and maintain UI and API automation tests using Playwright.
• Create and maintain JMeter scripts for load and performance testing.
• Validate asynchronous workflows across queues, databases, and logs.
• Perform data validation using SQL.
• Log clear and reproducible defects in Jira and coordinate with developers for resolution.
• Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and QA processes.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Strong hands-on Manual Testing with good knowledge of STLC/SDLC.
• Knowledge of BVA, Equivalence Partitioning, Decision Tables, and State Transitions.
• Hands-on API testing using Postman.
• Familiarity with Playwright, including locators, assertions, auto-waiting, and basic fixtures.
• Familiarity with JMeter, including thread groups, samplers, listeners, and basic correlation.
• Hands-on SQL for data validation.
• Basic programming knowledge in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Java.
• Understanding of test pyramid, shift-left testing, risk-based testing, eventual consistency, idempotency, and latency.
• Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• Exposure to microservices, asynchronous systems, queues, retries, and dead-letter queues.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and Jenkins.
• Basic knowledge of OWASP Top 10, Burp Suite/ZAP.
• Knowledge of contract testing and accessibility testing.
• ISTQB Foundation certification.
• Experience identifying and troubleshooting flaky tests.

QUALIFICATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
