Job summary

VFRYT is seeking a hands-on QA Automation Engineer to ensure the quality of our web, mobile and internal business applications. You will work with product and engineering teams across the development lifecycle, combining manual and exploratory testing with automation to improve test coverage and release confidence.

The goal is to automate repeatable and critical scenarios while ensuring new functionality is thoroughly validated before release.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of QA experience with automation and testing fundamentals.
• Hands-on with Playwright or a modern web automation framework.
• Proficient in JavaScript or TypeScript for test automation.
• Experience testing and automating REST APIs.
• Mobile automation experience with Appium or similar.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements and craft effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, regression and end-to-end testing across web/mobile apps, APIs and backend integrations.
• Develop and maintain automated web tests using Playwright or a modern web automation framework.
• Develop and maintain mobile automation using Appium or a mobile automation framework.
• Test REST APIs and automate critical API/integration scenarios.
• Build and maintain reliable smoke and regression suites and integrate them into the CI/CD process.
• Investigate test failures, document findings and work with developers to resolve.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint activities and release validation.

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on QA Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of our web, mobile and internal business applications.

You will work closely with product and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle, combining manual and exploratory testing with automation to improve test coverage and release confidence.

The goal is not to automate everything, but to automate repeatable and critical scenarios while ensuring new functionality is thoroughly validated before release.

Responsibilities:

• Understand product requirements and create effective test scenarios and test cases.
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, regression and end-to-end testing across web and mobile applications, APIs and backend integrations.
• Develop and maintain automated web tests using Playwright or a comparable modern web automation framework.
• Develop and maintain mobile automation using Appium or a comparable mobile automation framework.
• Test REST APIs and automate critical API and integration scenarios.
• Build and maintain reliable smoke and regression suites and integrate them into the CI/CD process.
• Investigate test failures, identify defects, document findings clearly and work closely with developers through resolution.
• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint activities and release validation.

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of software QA experience with strong functional, exploratory and automation testing fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright or a comparable modern web automation framework.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript for test automation.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can go beyond executing predefined test cases.

You should be comfortable understanding how a feature works across the user interface, APIs and backend integrations, identifying potential failure scenarios and deciding what should be tested manually versus automated.

You should be able to work independently with developers and product teams and help build a practical automation suite that improves regression coverage and supports frequent, reliable releases.

The ideal candidate combines a strong quality mindset with hands-on automation skills and focuses on building reliable, maintainable tests rather than simply increasing the number of automated test cases.
