Job summary

Wits Innovation Lab invites a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 3+ years of software testing and test automation to join our team in Mohali. You will work with Playwright, Selenium, Java, API testing with Postman, and REST Assured to ensure high-quality software delivery.

You will design and maintain automated test scripts, perform API and database testing with SQL, contribute to test plans, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to improve coverage and reliability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software testing and test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium.
• Good programming knowledge of Java.
• Experience in API testing using Postman.
• Practical experience with REST Assured for API automation.
• Strong understanding of database testing and SQL queries.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Experience with test management and defect-tracking tools such as JIRA.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, and Java.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Conduct API testing using Postman to validate endpoints, HTTP status codes, request/response payloads, and API functionality.
• Develop and execute API automation scripts using REST Assured.
• Perform database testing using SQL queries to validate data integrity, CRUD operations, and backend data consistency.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects using defect-tracking tools.
• Analyse test failures, investigate issues, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test execution reports.
• Contribute to improving automation frameworks, test coverage, and overall QA processes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software.
