Job summary

Phenom is seeking a Product Quality Engineer I (PQE I) to join our team in Hyderabad. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests using Selenium and Playwright with Java or Python.

You will perform functional, regression, and API testing while driving CI/CD integration and collaborating with developers and product teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in QA automation, strong programming fundamentals, and a quality-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in QA Automation / SDET / Software Testing.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium WebDriver.
• Hands‑on experience with Playwright.
• Proficiency in Java or Python.
• Strong understanding of OOPS concepts.
• API testing/automation experience.
• Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Good understanding of SQL and database validation.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Knowledge of software testing lifecycle and defect management.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Selenium and Playwright.
• Contribute to automation frameworks using Java or Python.
• Create reusable and maintainable automation scripts for Web applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute basic API automation tests using RestAssured or PyTest.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Perform root cause analysis of test failures and collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Execute automated test suites and analyze test results.
• Participate in CI/CD automation and integrate test execution into pipelines.
• Work closely with developers, product teams, and senior QA engineers to understand requirements.
• Participate in sprint planning, grooming, daily stand-ups, and release validation activities.
• Contribute to improving test coverage, automation stability, and overall product quality.
