Job summary

Wits Innovation Lab is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 3+ years of experience to drive software quality across applications and services. You will design, implement, and maintain automated tests using Playwright, Selenium, and Java, while conducting API testing with Postman and REST Assured.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, improve automation frameworks, and help enhance test coverage and QA processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in software testing, including test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and Selenium.
• Good programming knowledge of Java.
• Experience in API testing using Postman.
• REST Assured for API automation.
• Strong understanding of database testing and SQL queries.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and defect life cycle.
• Experience with JIRA for test management and defect tracking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium, and Java.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, sanity, and integration testing.
• Conduct API testing using Postman to validate endpoints, HTTP status codes, request/response payloads, and API functionality.
• Develop and execute API automation scripts using REST Assured.
• Perform database testing using SQL queries to validate data integrity, CRUD operations, and backend data consistency.
• Identify, document, track, and retest defects using defect-tracking tools.
• Analyse test failures, investigate issues, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases, automation scripts, and test execution reports.
• Contribute to improving automation frameworks, test coverage, and overall QA processes.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of quality software.
