JAC Recruitment is seeking a Purchasing Deputy Manager for an on-site automotive manufacturing environment in India. The role focuses on sourcing, supplier development, and cost optimisation to maintain uninterrupted production and successful project launches.
You will negotiate with suppliers, manage budgets, and lead cross-functional collaboration across Production, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Finance teams while mentoring the procurement team.
The Purchasing Deputy Manager role leads the procurement of raw materials, stamping parts, and bought-out parts to maintain an uninterrupted supply and support successful project launches. The position combines supplier development, commercial negotiation, cost optimisation, team leadership, and cross‑functional coordination within an on‑site automotive manufacturing environment.
Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement of direct materials, supporting uninterrupted production and material availability
Handle requests for quotation, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and cost analysis for new projects, ensuring timely closure and supplier readiness
Drive cost reduction and value analysis/value engineering initiatives to achieve annual savings targets
Develop and monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and development parameters
Lead supplier development, localisation, and capacity enhancement activities
Prepare procurement budgets, forecasts, management information system reports, and management dashboards
Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Planning, and Finance teams to support smooth operations and project launches
Mentor team members and drive continuous improvements in supplier performance and procurement efficiency
Strong experience in automotive purchasing and vendor management
Expertise in sourcing, cost negotiation, supplier development, and contract management
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
Proficiency in SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems, advanced Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power BI
Strong analytical, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
