Job summary

Altraize is seeking a Purchase Manager to oversee raw material procurement, cost optimization, and supplier consolidation in the plastic manufacturing sector. You will ensure timely procurement, maintain inventory norms, and drive LEAN procurement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include optimizing costs through market strategies, managing suppliers and inventory, and implementing data-driven improvements to procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in procurement strategies, supplier negotiations and cost optimisation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, budgeting and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in market research, sourcing strategies and price trend analysis.
  • Experience in LEAN procurement methodologies and data-based decision making.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Inventory Management: Ensure raw material procurement as per budget and on time, preventing excess stock or stockouts.
  • Define and maintain inventory norms with Min-Max levels for all plants to optimise material flow.
  • Cost Optimization & Supplier Management: Achieve cost savings as per budget through market buying strategies and alternative sourcing.
  • Alternative sourcing (new suppliers, countries, trade agreements) and alternative materials (near prime, direct sourcing, price negotiation).
  • Turnover discounts & year-on-year cost reductions and supplier consolidation & rationalisation.
  • Budget Control & Expense Monitoring: Ensure Capex control and monitor packing & consumables expenses within budget.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting: Monitor and report raw material price trends for informed decision-making.
  • LEAN Procurement & Data-Driven Initiatives: Lead LEAN procurement projects with Plan vs Actual performance tracking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement & Inventory Management:
  • Ensure raw material procurement as per budget and on time, preventing excess stock or stockouts.
  • Define and maintain inventory norms with Min-Max levels for all plants to optimise material flow.
  • Cost Optimization & Supplier Management:

  • Lead UDAAN - LEAN PROCUREMENT Project, ensuring Plan vs Actual performance tracking for continuous improvement.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong expertise in procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and cost optimisation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, budgeting, and financial controls.
  • Proficiency in market research, sourcing strategies, and price trend analysis.
  • Experience in LEAN procurement methodologies and data-based decision-making.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the Plastic manufacturing industry.
  • Proven track record in cost-saving initiatives, supplier consolidation, and inventory optimisation.
