Phiedge Talent Enhancers is seeking a Purchase Head to oversee raw material procurement, cost optimization, and supplier consolidation in Rubber/Plastic manufacturing. You will ensure timely procurement, maintain inventory norms, and drive LEAN procurement initiatives.

The role requires 8–12 years of procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and a track record of cost savings. Based in Mumbai, on-site operations with budgetary control responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in supply chain, procurement, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in procurement, preferably in Rubber/Plastic manufacturing.
• Proven track record in cost-saving initiatives and supplier consolidation.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Inventory: manage raw material procurement per budget and ensure timely delivery.
• Define and maintain inventory norms with Min-Max levels for all plants.
• Cost optimization & supplier mgmt: achieve budgeted savings and explore alternate sourcing.
• Lead supplier consolidation, negotiate terms, and pursue turnover discounts.
• Budget control & expense monitoring: capex control and monitor packing/maintenance costs.
• Market intelligence: monitor raw material price trends and report for decisions.
• LEAN & data-driven initiatives: lead UDAAN LEAN PROJECT with plan vs actual tracking.

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for a Purchase Head to manage raw material procurement, cost optimization, and supplier consolidation in the Rubber & Plastic manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement, cost savings, and maintaining inventory norms while driving LEAN procurement initiatives

1. Procurement & Inventory Management:

• Ensure raw material procurement as per budget and on time, preventing excess stock or stockouts.
• Define and maintain inventory norms with Min-Max levels for all plants to optimize material flow.

2. Cost Optimization & Supplier Management:

• Achieve cost savings as per budget through better market buying strategies, including:
• Alternative sourcing (new suppliers, countries, trade agreements).
• Alternative materials (near prime, direct sourcing, price negotiation).
• Turnover discounts & year-on-year cost reductions.
• Supplier consolidation & rationalization (RM, packaging, transport, consumables

3. Budget Control & Expense Monitoring:

• Ensure Capex control as per budget.
• Monitor and control packing & consumables expenses as per budget.
• Maintain repair & maintenance expenses within budget.

4. Market Intelligence & Reporting:

• Monitor and report raw material price trends against external material boards for informed decision-making.

5. LEAN Procurement & Data-Driven Initiatives:

• Lead UDAAN - LEAN PROCUREMENT Project, ensuring Plan vs Actual performance tracking for continuous improvement.
