Responsibilities
Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyses suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up on orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
May also be responsible for some material planning, depending on the needs of the operation. Assignments are received in task-oriented terms.
Communicates with Division GSM & Category Management team.
Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.
Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.
Administers and executes material and service contracts with suppliers.
Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision employees. Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required.
