Responsibilities

• Plan and procure materials, components, equipment and services required for manufacturing.
• Issue Purchase Orders and monitor supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and delivery schedules.
• Manage supplier relationships and purchasing records.
• Monitor inventory and ensure timely material availability.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Production for new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Coordinate import shipments from China and other international suppliers.
• Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers and transportation providers.
• Manage import documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Track shipments and resolve logistics issues that could impact production.
• Monitor inbound/outbound freight costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to source components from qualified Indian suppliers.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities based on quality, manufacturing capacity, cost and delivery performance.
• Coordinate supplier audits and qualification activities with Engineering and Quality.
• Develop long‑term supplier relationships.
• Lead supplier localization, cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Establish reorder points and safety stock levels.
• Coordinate with Production Planning and Warehouse teams.
• Monitor inventory accuracy and support inventory control processes.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain supplier agreements, purchasing records and logistics documentation.
• Track and report purchasing, supplier and logistics KPIs.
• Support internal and external audits related to purchasing and supply chain.
