Job summary

Fawia in India seeks a proactive procurement lead to drive the complete technical purchasing function for mechanical, piping, valves and related materials.

The role requires reviewing specs, BOQs and datasheets, evaluating vendors, and negotiating terms to ensure on-time project execution with optimal cost. Strong cross-functional collaboration is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to review technical drawings, BOQs, specifications and datasheets.
• Strong technical and commercial negotiation skills for EPC/Oil & Gas or industrial projects.
• Experience in project-based procurement and handling high-value purchases.
• Good vendor network in the mechanical, industrial and engineering sectors.
• Ability to maintain complete procurement records and MIS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete technical procurement and purchasing function.
• Source and procure mechanical equipment, piping materials, valves, fittings, structural materials, cryogenic components, and other project-related materials.
• Review technical specifications, BOQs, drawings, datasheets, and material requirements before procurement.
• Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage reliable vendors, manufacturers, and OEMs.
• Float RFQs and conduct technical as well as commercial evaluations of vendor offers.
• Prepare comparative statements and recommend suitable vendors based on technical compliance, quality, price, and delivery schedules.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Finalize purchase orders in coordination with management.
• Ensure timely procurement of materials as per project schedules and avoid delays in execution.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Projects, Site, Stores, Accounts, and Management teams.
• Monitor vendor performance, delivery commitments, material quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Develop alternate vendors and procurement strategies to achieve cost optimization.
• Maintain complete purchase records, vendor databases, comparative statements, POs, and procurement MIS.
• Preparation of RFQ/ BOQ.
• Presentation of L1,L2,L3 of every item
• Vendor Sourcing & Development
• Visit on Site to understand possible savings

Preferred Profile
