Job summary

Rama Phosphates Limited in India seeks a senior procurement leader to manage end-to-end sourcing of raw materials, packing, spares, and services for fertilizer manufacturing. Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute procurement of fertilizer raw materials such as rock phosphate, sulphur, ammonia, phosphoric acid, potash, chemicals, catalysts, and additives.
  • Manage sourcing of packing materials (HDPE/PP bags, liners), engineering spares, plant consumables, and maintenance services.
  • Align purchase plans with production schedules, plant shutdowns, and maintenance requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and approve reliable vendors in compliance with quality, safety, and statutory norms.
  • Conduct price negotiations, rate contracts, and long-term supply agreements to achieve cost optimization.
  • Issue, track, and close Purchase Orders (POs), Service Orders, and Annual Rate Contracts (ARC).
  • Ensure timely inward of materials and coordinate with logistics, stores, and quality teams.
  • Monitor inventory levels, minimum-maximum controls, and critical spares availability.
  • Ensure compliance with Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), environmental norms, safety standards, and internal audit requirements.
  • Coordinate with Accounts for invoice verification, GRN matching, GST compliance, and vendor payments.
  • Handle import procurement, including vendor coordination, documentation, customs clearance, and statutory compliances (where applicable).
  • Track market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and alternate sourcing strategies.
  • Resolve vendor disputes, quality rejections, shortages, and delivery delays.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives through value engineering and vendor development.
  • Lead and develop the procurement team at plant and corporate level.
  • Prepare and present procurement MIS, cost-saving reports, inventory analysis, and compliance dashboards.
