Job summary

Adani Group in Rajasthan seeks an experienced Plant Procurement Manager to drive end-to-end procurement for O&M materials, spares, and services in a heavy industry environment. You will coordinate with maintenance, production, projects, and finance to secure materials on time and within budget.

Requirements include BE/BTech in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation with 6–10 years in procurement, techno-commercial evaluation, and supplier negotiations; MBA preferred.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Production is required.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations or Finance preferred.
• 6–10 years of experience in Procurement, Techno-Commercial, Materials Management or Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement of O&M materials, project requirements, consumables and services.
• Ensure timely availability of critical materials to support operations.
• Process requisitions, RFQs, bid evaluations and purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and expeditate urgent procurement needs.
• Conduct techno-commercial evaluation of quotations and tenders.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and terms.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with specifications and business needs.
• Identify and develop capable suppliers and service providers.
• Evaluate vendor performance on quality, cost, and delivery.
• Coordinate with Stores and User Departments for inventory planning.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
• Manage annual rate contracts, work orders and service agreements.

Job description

Purpose/Objective

• To manage plant-level procurement activities by ensuring timely sourcing of materials, spares, consumables, services, and contracts required for smooth plant operations.
• The role is responsible for vendor management, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, cost optimisation, inventory control, and adherence to procurement policies to support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Procurement Operations – Manage end-to-end procurement of O&M materials, project requirements, consumables, and services.
• Ensure timely availability of critical materials to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Process purchase requisitions, RFQs, bid evaluations, and purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and expedite urgent procurement requirements.
• Techno-Commercial Management – Conduct techno-commercial evaluation of quotations and tenders.
• Prepare comparative statements and procurement recommendations.
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and commercial conditions.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with technical specifications and business requirements.
• Vendor Development & Management – Identify and develop capable suppliers and service providers.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Develop alternate sourcing options for critical materials and services.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure procurement efficiency.
• Inventory & Cost Control – Coordinate with Stores and User Departments for inventory planning.
• Monitor stock levels of critical spares and consumables.
• Support inventory optimisation and reduction of non-moving inventory.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
• Contract & Service Procurement – Manage annual rate contracts, work orders, and service agreements.
• Ensure timely execution and compliance of procurement contracts.
• Monitor contractual performance and address supplier-related issues.
• Compliance & Process Governance – Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, and approval matrix.
• Maintain procurement records and documentation for audits.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Ensure ethical and transparent procurement practices.
• Cross-Functional Coordination – Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Projects, Finance, and Stores teams.
• Support shutdown activities and major maintenance projects through effective procurement planning.
• Coordinate with central procurement team for strategic purchases.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Qualification – B. E. / B. – Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Production, or related Engineering discipline.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Operations, or Finance preferred.
• Experience – 6-10 years of experience in Procurement, Techno Commercial, Materials Management, or Supply Chain.
• Experience in Cement, Mining, Power, Metals, Manufacturing, or Process Industry preferred.
• Exposure to procurement of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation spares, consumables, and services.
