That makes packaging at Morcom a high-variety, customer-specific category: different boxes, cartons, labels, manuals and warranty cards for every brand and model — and one wrong print can hold an entire dispatch. The Purchase Executive – Packaging & Printing buys all of it — corrugated and duplex boxes, thermocol and EPE protection, stickers, rating and barcode labels, barcode printers, ribbons and their spares, and every printed item from user manuals to warranty cards — to the right specification, the right approved artwork, the right quantity and the right price, so that the product reaches the customer undamaged and correctly marked.## KEY RESPONSIBILITIES### 1. Corrugated & Duplex Boxes* Specification: Buy corrugated boxes (3 / 5 / 7 ply) to written specification — box style, internal dimensions, paper GSM and BF per layer, flute type, bursting strength / ECT / box compression, joint and printing — and verify at receipt.* Duplex / mono cartons: Buy printed duplex and mono cartons — board type and GSM, offset printing colours, lamination / varnish / UV, window, die-cut and pasting — with colour matched to the approved proof.* Costing from paper: Cost every box from its paper weight (sheet size × total GSM with flute take-up) × paper rate + conversion, so negotiations run on facts; track kraft paper price movements.* Drop & transit performance: Work with Quality on drop tests and transit damage feedback; correct the specification rather than accept damages.### 2. Protective Packaging — Thermocol (EPS) & EPE Foam* EPS moulded packing: Source moulded thermocol to die and density (kg/m3); manage die / mould cost, ownership and modifications when the product changes.* EPE foam: Buy EPE sheets, rolls and fabricated inserts by density and thickness; standardise sizes to cut variety.* Fit checks: Approve new packing on a physical sample with the product before bulk order.### 3. Labels, Stickers, Barcodes & Printers* Label materials: Buy stickers and labels in the right substrate — chromo paper, PET / polyester, silver polyester for rating plates, void / tamper-evident — with the right adhesive for the surface and heat.* Statutory markings: Ensure rating labels, carton markings and printed matter carry the declarations required by the BIS product certification and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules for each brand, as approved by Quality.* Barcode & serial labels: Source blank / pre-printed barcode and serial-number labels and thermal-transfer ribbons (wax, wax-resin, resin) matched to label material and durability need.* Barcode printers & spares: Specify and buy barcode printers (resolution, print width, speed, connectivity, software), and keep spares — print heads, platen rollers, cutters, sensors — with service support in place.### 4. Printed Material & Artwork Control* Printed items: Buy user manuals, warranty cards, instruction leaflets, inserts, service stickers and any other printed matter — paper GSM, size, colours, folding and binding.* Artwork control: Maintain a version-controlled artwork register for every brand and model; no print order without a signed-off proof and the latest approved version; retain proofs and first-print samples.* Change management: When a brand owner changes artwork, freeze old stock, agree the use-up or write-off plan and prevent obsolete prints from being ordered again.### 5. Ordering, Inventory & MIS* Procure-to-pay: Raise POs in the ERP against approved requisitions with specification, artwork version, GST / HSN and approved rate; follow up daily; resolve GRN, QC and invoice mismatches.* MOQ vs. obsolescence: Balance printer MOQs against the risk of dead stock when brands, models or artwork change; keep brand-wise packaging stock visible.* MIS: Monthly packaging MIS — spend by brand and item, rate trends, savings, vendor rating, transit-damage feedback and obsolete / slow stock.## CANDIDATE PROFILE### Must-Have* Corrugation knowledge: Can explain ply, BF, GSM, flute and bursting strength, and cost a box from its paper weight.* Printing knowledge: Understands offset vs. flexo, colour matching to a proof, lamination and die-cutting.* Labels & barcodes: Knows label substrates, ribbon types and barcode printer specifications and spares.* Artwork discipline: Has worked with version-controlled artwork and proof approvals for multiple brands or SKUs.* Systems: ERP / Tally / Busy for PO and GRN; MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) for comparatives and MIS.* Experience: 3 – 6 years in packaging purchase in a manufacturing company.### Preferred* Industry: Home appliances, consumer electronics, FMCG or any OEM / contract manufacturer supplying multiple brands.* Qualification: IIP packaging diploma or printing technology background.* Compliance exposure: Worked with BIS / Legal Metrology marking requirements and EPR documentation for packaging.* Language & location: Fluent Hindi and good working English; able to commute daily to Harsana Kalan, Sonipat.## KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS* No dispatch held: Zero dispatches delayed for packaging, labels or printed material.* Print accuracy: Zero wrong-artwork or wrong-marking incidents reaching the line or a customer.* Cost: Box and carton rates versus paper-weight costing; documented savings.* Damage: Transit-damage complaints attributable to packaging trending down.* Inventory: Obsolete / slow-moving packaging stock kept within agreed limits.## FIRST 90 DAYS — WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE* Day 1 – 30: Map every box, carton, label and printed item by brand and model with its specification, vendor and rate; start the artwork register.* Day 31 – 60: Written specifications for all corrugated boxes; paper-weight costing done for the top 15 boxes; barcode printer spares list and service support in place.* Day 61 – 90: Packaging category running to monthly MIS; artwork register complete and enforced; obsolete stock identified and a disposal / use-up plan agreed.## HOW TO APPLYInterested candidates may share their updated CV at hr@morcom.in with the subject line “Application – Purchase Executive, Packaging & Printing”, mentioning the packaging items bought and the monthly purchase value handled.
