Job summary

Fabex Automation in Pune, India, is seeking a hands-on Procurement specialist to manage multi-category sourcing, supplier development, and purchase order execution. You will source mechanical, electrical, fabrication, and sheet metal materials, negotiate prices, and drive on-time delivery.

The role requires reading BOMs and drawings, leveraging ERP for procurement, maintaining vendor records and MIS, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cost and supply reliability.

Qualifications

Vendor development and supplier management.
Proficient in RFQ and quotation comparison.
Experience with ERP / purchasing software.
Strong negotiation and cost-reduction mindset.
Ability reading engineering drawings and BOM.
MS Excel and data analysis skills.
Material planning and supplier follow-up.
Purchase order management and documentation.
Knowledge of BOM understanding.

Responsibilities

Manage procurement activities for mechanical, electrical, fabrication, sheet metal, machining, and vendor development.
Source materials from vendors to meet project requirements.
Develop strong supplier relationships through effective communication and negotiation.
Ensure timely delivery by monitoring production schedules and inventory levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve procurement issues.
Study BOMs, drawings and technical specifications before procurement.
Understand ERP system and procure items through it.
Maintain purchase records, vendor database, PO status and procurement MIS.
Purchase products such as - motor gearboxes, bearings and couplings; PLC, HMI, VFD, servo motors and drive; sensors and electrical panel related components; machines and fabricated components as per drawings.
