Job summary

Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd. Navi Mumbai seeks a Purchase Executive with 3–5 years in manufacturing procurement. You will handle end-to-end sourcing for mechanical components, manage supplier relationships, and coordinate with engineering and production to ensure timely material availability.

Candidate should have a degree in Mechanical or related engineering field and be skilled in MS Excel, import documentation, and ERP systems including Tally ERP.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong exposure to mechanical procurement activities and sourcing.
• Experience with international procurement and import documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement for mechanical, electromechanical, fabrication, machining, and components.
• Source domestic and international vendors; float RFQs and negotiate terms.
• Procure raw materials, machined parts, sheet metal components and assemblies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Stores, Quality and Projects for timely availability.
• Manage import documentation, freight, customs and supplier communications.

Key Responsibilities

Handle end-to-end procurement activities for mechanical, electromechanical, fabrication, machining, and engineering components.

Source and develop domestic and international vendors for manufacturing and project requirements.

Float RFQs, obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

Procure raw materials, CNC machined parts, fabricated assemblies, sheet metal components, precision mechanical parts, fasteners, special metals, and engineering consumables.

Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Stores, Quality, and Project teams for procurement planning and timely material availability.

Execute international procurement activities including import documentation, freight coordination, customs follow-up, and vendor communication.

Develop alternate vendors and maintain approved supplier databases.

Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, and cost optimization.

Generate Purchase Orders and maintain procurement records in Tally ERP.

Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and audit requirements.

Track open orders, expedite critical materials, and ensure on-time deliveries.

Prepare MIS reports related to procurement, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives.

Support inventory optimization and procurement planning for ongoing manufacturing projects.

Required Skills & Competencies

Mandatory

3–5 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment.

Strong experience in Mechanical Procurement.

Experience in sourcing:

• CNC Machined Components
• Fabricated Parts
• Sheet Metal Components
• Mechanical Assemblies
• Engineering Raw Materials
• Industrial Consumables

Exposure to International Procurement / Import Purchasing.

Hands-on working knowledge of Tally ERP.

Strong vendor negotiation and cost management skills.

Good understanding of procurement documentation and purchase cycle.

Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting.

Preferred

• Experience in Defence, Aerospace, Precision Engineering, Heavy Engineering, Electronics Manufacturing, or Capital Equipment industries.
• Knowledge of import procedures, Incoterms, freight forwarding, and customs documentation.
• Experience handling project-based procurement requirements.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

Supply Chain or Procurement certifications will be an added advantage.
