About the Role
As a Proposal Manager, you will lead the preparation of proposals for Pyro & Grinding products and packages for global customers. Your focus will be on delivering fast, competitive technical proposals that drive profitable growth.
About the Department
You will be part of the Proposal and Process Design department in the Pyro & Grinding Business Line, which provides sustainable technologies for new and existing cement installations. The goal is to help customers achieve their business objectives, extend asset life, transition to alternative fuels, and improve performance and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Participate in proposal efforts of Pyro & Grinding solutions with optimal technical outcomes.
- Prepare technical proposals for new cement plants and upgrades, including planning of proposal activities, developing optimal concepts for customer requirements, generating technical documents, and other supporting proposal documentation.
- Understand tender requirements and process diagrams and collect inputs from various departments to design the final system solution.
- Ensure timely completion of the assigned job with the required quality.
- Supervise drafting work related to specific proposals and requirements.
- Create various options and optimizations in the layout/GA/flow diagrams to produce cost‑effective and feasible solutions in the proposals.
- Support the preparation of technical specifications for auxiliary equipment and evaluate vendor offers.
- Prepare various documents such as machinery lists in ATLAS, tender deviations, weight schedules, engineering schedules, and exclusion lists.
- Maintain proper backup documents, complete and file documentation for proposals as per ISO requirements and internal work procedures.
- Attend customer meetings for technical clarifications, including travel as needed and site visits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal preparation or contract project engineering in the cement industry.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of ATLAS, MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 3D tools.
- A positive mindset that motivates colleagues worldwide.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English.
- Good knowledge of FLSmidth products and a fair knowledge of the cement process.
- Knowledge of cement plant design and layout engineering.
- Conceptual thinking, visualization, and problem‑solving ability.
- Quality focus and time management.
- Basic knowledge of other disciplines such as electrical, civil, etc.
