Job summary

Fuller Technologies in Chennai, India, seeks a Proposal Manager with a mechanical engineering background to lead technical proposal efforts for Pyro & Grinding products. You will coordinate with global teams to design state-of-the-art system solutions for cement plants, ensure tender compliance, and drive profitable growth.

The role requires 5+ years in proposal preparation or contract engineering, strong CAD/tooling skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years in Proposal Preparation or Contract Project Engineering in cement/related industries.
• Strong communication and multitasking in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with ATLAS, MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and 3D tools.
• Fluent English with clear technical communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in proposal efforts of Pyro & Grinding solutions with optimal technical outcomes.
• Prepare technical proposals for new cement plants and upgrades, planning activities and generating technical documents.
• Understand tender requirements and collect inputs from multiple departments to design the final system solution.
• Timely completion of assigned jobs with required quality.
• Supervise drafting work related to proposals and requirements.
• Create cost-effective and feasible layouts/GA/flow diagrams for proposals.
• Support preparation of technical specifications for auxiliary equipment and evaluation of vendor offers.
• Prepare documents like machinery lists in ATLAS, tender deviations, weight schedules, engineering schedules, exclusion lists, etc.
• Maintain proper backup documents and file proposals per ISO and internal procedures.
• Attend customer meetings for technical clarifications in proposals, including travel and site visits.

Are you a dynamic mechanical engineer with an exceptional technical mindset and a passion for driving sustainable industrial solutions? As a Proposal Manager, you will be involved in proposal preparation efforts of Pyro & Grinding products and product packages for global customers. You’ll collaborate with internal teams to deliver fast, competitive technical proposals that drive profitable growth.

About The Department

You will be part of the Proposal and Process Design department. As a part of Pyro & Grinding Business Line, we provide sustainable technologies for both new and existing cement installations. Our aim is to help our customers achieve their business objectives, extend the lifespan of their current assets, transition to alternative fuels, and enhance the performance and efficiency of their operations. We are committed to delivering true value to our customers' assets while aligning with the industry's sustainability goals. You will be part of a global team while affiliated to one of our offices, either Allentown (PA, USA), Valby (Denmark) or Chennai (India).

Your Responsibilities

• Participate in proposal efforts of Pyro & Grinding solutions with optimal technical outcomes
• Prepare technical proposals for new cement plants and upgrades which includes planning of proposal activities, creating optimum concepts for customer requirements, generating technical documents, and other supporting proposal documentation
• Understand tender requirements and process diagrams and collect inputs from various departments to be able to design the final system solution
• Timely completion of the assigned job with the required quality
• Supervise drafting work related to specific proposals and requirements
• Make various options and optimization in the layout/GA/flow diagrams to make cost-effective and feasible solutions in the proposals
• Support preparation of technical specification for auxiliary equipment and evaluation of vendor offers
• Prepare various documents like machinery list in ATLAS, tender deviations, weight schedule, engineering schedule, exclusion list, etc
• Maintain proper backup documents, complete and file documentation for the proposals as per ISO requirements and internal work procedures
• Attend customer meetings for technical clarifications in proposals, including travelling as needed and site visits

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Proposal Preparation or Contract Project Engineering in the cement industry
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Knowledge of ATLAS, MS Office, AutoCAD & SolidWorks and other 3D tools
• A positive mindset that motivates those around you, no matter if they sit next to you or on the other side of the world
• Good efficient verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
• Good knowledge of FLSmidth products and a fair knowledge on the cement process
• Knowledge of cement plant design and layout engineering
• Conceptual thinking, visualization and problem‑solving ability
• Quality focus and time management
• Basic knowledge of other disciplines (Electrical, Civil, etc.)
