Responsibilities

• Lead procurement & strategic sourcing for surgical devices and healthcare products.
• Develop sourcing strategies, conduct RFQs, negotiations, and contract finalization.
• Manage procurement cycle from planning to PO closure and supplier evaluations.
• Develop relationships with manufacturers and suppliers; monitor performance.

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager Purchase is responsible for leading the procurement of surgical devices, surgical equipment, medical devices, implants, instruments, consumables, and related healthcare products. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiations, contract management, inventory optimization, regulatory compliance, and ensuring uninterrupted availability of quality products at competitive costs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

• Lead procurement of surgical devices, surgical equipment, medical devices, surgical instruments, implants, consumables, and accessories.
• Develop sourcing strategies to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted supply.
• Manage the complete procurement cycle from requirement planning to purchase order closure.
• Conduct RFQs, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract finalization.
• Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.

Supplier & Contract Management

• Develop and manage relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and authorized suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranty, service agreements, AMC/CMC, and annual rate contracts.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where required.

Inventory & Supply Chain

• Ensure optimum inventory levels of critical surgical devices, equipment, and consumables.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Stores, Biomedical, and Finance teams for procurement planning.
• Minimize stock-outs, excess inventory, and obsolete materials.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure procurement complies with company policies, applicable healthcare regulations, and quality standards.
• Maintain complete procurement documentation, contracts, purchase orders, and supplier records.
• Support internal and external audits.

Reporting & Budget Management

• Monitor procurement budgets and purchasing expenditure.
• Prepare procurement MIS, spend analysis, supplier performance reports, and savings reports.
• Present procurement performance to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Commerce, or a related field.
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Procurement is preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• 8–15 years of procurement experience in surgical devices, surgical equipment, medical devices, healthcare products, or hospital supplies.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.
