About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, execution‑driven Project Manager – AI Annotation Operations to lead large‑scale AI data annotation programs supporting enterprise clients.
Operating during US shift hours, the Project Manager will manage a distributed workforce of contractors across the United States while collaborating closely with recruiting, quality, and client stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with resource planning, workforce management, and hands‑on experience delivering AI annotation, data labelling, or Human‑in‑the‑Loop (HITL) projects.

Key Responsibilities
1. Project Delivery & Client Management
- Own end‑to‑end delivery of AI annotation projects from kickoff through successful completion.
- Create project plans, assign work, monitor progress, and ensure milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
- Track project health, risks, dependencies, and escalations while providing regular status updates to internal leadership and clients.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for US‑based clients and independently lead client meetings, project reviews, and operational discussions.
- Ensure projects consistently meet delivery, quality, SLA, and productivity targets.
2. Workforce Planning & Resource Management
- Manage a distributed workforce across multiple skill categories and project workstreams.
- Partner closely with Recruiting teams to maintain a healthy talent pipeline based on project forecasts.
- Allocate resources based on skill sets, availability, productivity, and project priorities.
- Monitor workforce utilisation, capacity planning, attendance, and replacement planning to ensure uninterrupted project delivery.
- Manage contractor onboarding, NDA completion, documentation, and operational readiness.
3. Quality Operations & Performance Management
- Conduct quality reviews of submitted work and ensure adherence to annotation guidelines and client quality standards.
- Manage QA feedback loops, rejection handling, corrective actions, and rework closure.
- Monitor worker performance metrics and implement improvement plans where necessary.
- Collaborate with Quality teams to continuously improve annotation accuracy and operational efficiency.
4. Operations, Reporting & Governance
- Validate contractor timesheets and ensure billing accuracy.
- Maintain project dashboards, utilisation reports, productivity metrics, and audit‑ready documentation.
- Track project spend, workforce allocation, and operational performance against business objectives.
- Develop and improve SOPs, operational processes, and reporting mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 6–8 years of Project Management experience.
- Minimum 2 years managing contingent or contractor‑based workforces.
- Proven experience managing remote US‑based teams from an offshore delivery centre.
- Experience working in US shift environments supporting North American clients.
- Strong background in resource management, workforce planning, scheduling, utilisation tracking, and capacity management.
- Experience managing Statement of Work (SOW)‑based engagements and delivery compliance.
- Hands‑on experience with contractor management or workforce platforms such as TalentDesk, Deel, Upwork Enterprise, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with experience leading client‑facing meetings independently.
