Job summary

Zetwerk seeks an experienced Project Lead for utility-scale BESS projects in India. You will oversee end-to-end execution from site mobilization to handover, coordinating installation of Battery Racks/Modules, PCS, BMS, EMS and SCADA, and ensuring safety and grid compliance.

You will collaborate with engineering, EPC contractors and vendors, manage schedules, cost, and risk, and drive testing and commissioning across Bihar and Rajasthan sites. Strong renewable energy/EPC background required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Renewable Energy/EPC.
• Mixed Solar + BESS experience is preferred, with utility-scale BESS/Solar+BESS/Hybrid project exposure.
• Willingness to work at Bihar and Rajasthan project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of utility-scale BESS projects from site mobilization to testing and handover.
• Manage installation and integration of Battery Energy Storage Containers, Racks/Modules, batteries (Li-ion/LFP), PCS, BMS, EMS and SCADA.
• Oversee BESS integration with Solar PV, Grid, substations, transformers and MV/HT systems.
• Manage installation and commissioning of HVAC/thermal management, fire safety, and battery safety systems.
• Coordinate with engineering teams for BESS sizing, capacity, SOC/SOH, charge/discharge cycles and system config.
• Manage BESS OEMs, integrators, EPC contractors and vendors for timely execution and compliance.
• Lead pre-commissioning, battery testing, PCS testing, BMS/EMS/SCADA integration and grid synchronization.
• Monitor performance: availability, round-trip efficiency, SOC/SOH and charge/discharge metrics.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, electrical safety and grid requirements.
• Drive project schedules, cost control, resource planning, risk management and handover.

Role & responsibilities

1. Lead end-to-end execution of utility-scale BESS projects from site mobilization, installation and construction through testing, commissioning and handover.
2. Manage installation and integration of Battery Energy Storage Containers, Battery Racks/Modules, Lithium-ion/LFP batteries, PCS, BMS, EMS and SCADA.
3. Oversee BESS integration with Solar PV, Grid, Pooling Substations, Transformers, MV/HT systems, switchgear and power evacuation infrastructure.
4. Manage installation and commissioning of HVAC/thermal management, fire detection & suppression, auxiliary power, emergency shutdown and battery safety systems.
5. Coordinate with engineering teams for BESS sizing, MW/MWh capacity, C-rate, SOC/SOH, charge/discharge cycles, system configuration and technical specifications.
6. Manage BESS OEMs, system integrators, EPC contractors, subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely project execution and adherence to technical requirements.
7. Lead pre-commissioning, battery testing, PCS testing, BMS/EMS/SCADA integration, protection testing, functional testing and grid synchronization.
8. Monitor BESS performance parameters including availability, round-trip efficiency, degradation, SOC/SOH, response time and charge/discharge performance.
9. Ensure compliance with HSE, electrical safety, battery safety, thermal runaway prevention, fire safety, quality standards and applicable grid requirements.
10. Drive project schedules, cost control, resource planning, risk management, progress reporting, punch-point closure and final project handover.

Preferred candidate profile

10+ years of experience in Renewable Energy/EPC, with strong BESS project execution experience.

Mixed Solar + BESS experience can be considered, with preference for candidates who have handled utility-scale BESS / Solar + BESS / Hybrid projects.

B.E./B.Tech preferred.

Willingness to work at Bihar and Rajasthan project sites.
