Job summary

Vassar Labs is seeking an Onsite Project Manager to oversee end-to-end project lifecycles for assigned accounts and initiatives. You will drive initiation, planning, scheduling, execution, QA, and deployment while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering within scope and on schedule.

The role requires strategic budget oversight, proactive risk mitigation, and leadership to ensure projects meet quality standards and deliverables across cross-functional teams.

The Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive lifecycle management of assigned accounts and projects, encompassing initiation, planning, scheduling, execution, quality assurance, and deployment. This role requires strategic budget oversight, proactive risk mitigation, and superior client relationship management to ensure initiatives are delivered within scope, on schedule, and aligned with organizational quality standards.

Core Responsibilities -

• Project Governance & Execution: Define, develop, and maintain comprehensive project plans. Lead cross-functional teams through estimation processes to establish realistic schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Financial Administration: Establish overall project budgets and maintain rigorous cost controls.
• Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary interface for client stakeholders. Gather and analyze requirements, manage expectations, and effectively resolve high-level escalations to maintain optimal client satisfaction.
• Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify project risks and potential points of contention. Design and execute robust mitigation strategies to safeguard timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Quality Assurance Compliance: Enforce adherence to established Quality Assurance (QA) frameworks. Schedule and conduct regular quality reviews, ensuring all identified defects or variances are promptly rectified.
• Team Leadership & Development: Optimize team performance by fostering collaboration, providing mentorship, and facilitating professional development to maximize operational efficiency and morale.
• Methodology Application: Independently apply advanced program management methodologies, tools, and industry terminology to execute projects of moderate to high complexity.

1. On-Time Delivery

• Deadlines Met: Percentage of project goals and final deadlines hit on time.
• Milestone Accuracy: Staying within 5% of the original project timeline.

2. Budget Control

• Cost Management: Keeping total project spending within 5% of the approved budget.
• Spending Forecasts: Accuracy of monthly and quarterly cost predictions against actual spend.

3. Client Satisfaction

• Happiness Score: Achieving high satisfaction ratings from clients.
• Escalation Handling: Speed and success rate in resolving formal client complaints and issues.

4. Work Quality

• Error Rate: Minimizing the number of bugs or issues found by the client after project launch.
• Review Compliance: 100% adherence to running scheduled quality checks before final deployment.

5. Team Success

• Resource Balance: Ensuring team workload is balanced fairly (no benching, no burnout).
• Team Morale: Maintaining positive team feedback and low turnover within assigned projects.
