Job summary

CBTS is seeking a senior Project Manager in Chennai to lead end‑to‑end delivery of complex initiatives. You will align business objectives with strategic outcomes, guide cross‑functional teams, and ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery with high quality standards.

In this role you will own project plans, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications, delivering executive‑level status reports and driving continuous improvement across delivery practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive project management experience delivering complex initiatives.
  • Experience in hybrid delivery models and geographically distributed teams.
  • Proficiency with Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, goals, and success criteria aligned with strategy.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans with timelines, milestones, and resources.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders to drive project outcomes.
  • Establish governance frameworks, delivery standards, and quality checkpoints.
  • Embed lessons learned and drive continuous improvement across teams.
  • Serve as primary contact for stakeholders and provide executive‑level updates.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and decisions clearly to leadership.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to review progress and decisions.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks with contingency plans.
  • Monitor risks throughout the lifecycle and adjust plans as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and ITIL processes.
  • Plan and optimize resource allocation and manage budgets and expenditures.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation including charters, RAID logs, and status reports.
  • Generate reports on KPIs, financials, and outcomes for governance bodies.
  • Provide recommendations for future projects based on lessons learned.

The Project Manager is a senior delivery leader responsible for the end-to-end planning, execution, and governance of complex, cross-functional projects across the organization. This role drives strategic alignment between business objectives and operational outcomes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager exercises strong leadership, stakeholder influence, and sound judgment to navigate challenges, manage risk, and achieve measurable business value. This is a high-impact role that demands both strategic thinking and hands‑on execution discipline.

Job Purpose

As the Project Manager, you will leverage your expertise to align project objectives with business goals, ensuring timely and profitable delivery while maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Functions
  • Define project scope, goals, success criteria, and deliverables in alignment with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, budgets, and dependency mapping.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to drive project success.
  • Establish and enforce project governance frameworks, delivery standards, and quality checkpoints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement by embedding lessons learned, post‑project reviews, and best practice adoption across delivery teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for project stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Deliver clear, timely, executive‑ready communications on project status, risks, issues, and decisions required.
  • Facilitate meetings and presentations to communicate project progress.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, developing robust mitigation and contingency strategies.
  • Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project delivery adheres to organizational standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Plan and optimize resource allocation across teams, balancing capacity, capability, and project priorities.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial accountability with accurate forecasting and variance reporting.
  • Maintain comprehensive, audit‑ready project documentation including charters, plans, RAID logs, and status reports.
  • Generate meaningful reports on project performance, KPIs, financials, and outcomes for senior leadership and governance bodies.
  • Provide recommendations for future projects based on lessons learned.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, Agile, ITIL) required.
Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in project management, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex, high‑value projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience delivering projects across complex enterprise environments, including hybrid delivery models and geographically distributed teams.
  • Strong command of project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage project financials, including budget development, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective in managing project activities in alignment with ITIL processes and organizational frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and provide end‑user training and support.
  • Participate in project planning, testing, and deployment strategies and activities.
  • Flexible work rotation.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficiency in enterprise project management tools and software, including MS Project, JIRA, ServiceNow, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
