Responsibilities

• Define and guide the technical direction for projects and teams.

• Troubleshoot complex issues and guide the team to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Define and guide the technical direction for assigned projects, products, or engineering teams.
• Lead architecture, design, code quality, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability discussions.
• Review solution approaches, technical designs, pull requests, and critical code changes.
• Ensure engineering best practices are followed across development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Evaluate technology choices and recommend suitable tools, frameworks, and implementation approaches.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide the team toward effective resolution.

Engineering Delivery Management

• Own end-to-end delivery of software development, cloud, DevOps, automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Break down business requirements into technical deliverables, milestones, estimates, and execution plans.
• Coordinate sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
• Track project progress, delivery risks, dependencies, blockers, and quality metrics.
• Ensure timely delivery within agreed scope, quality standards, and business priorities.
• Prepare and present project status updates, technical progress reports, and delivery dashboards.

People Management and Mentoring

• Lead, mentor, and coach developers, senior engineers, A engineers, DevOps engineers, and technical leads.
• Assign work based on skills, priorities, capacity, and project needs.
• Support team members through technical guidance, career development, feedback, and performance improvement.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, ownership, and continuous learning within the team.
• Support hiring, technical interviews, onboarding, and capability-building activities.

Client and Stakeholder Management

• Act as the technical and delivery point of contact for customers, product owners, business analysts, and internal leadership.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions and execution plans.
• Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and decisions clearly to stakeholders.
• Manage technical escalations and coordinate timely resolution with relevant teams.
• Participate in presales discussions, technical estimations, solution walkthroughs, and proposal support when required.

Process, Quality, and Governance

• Ensure adherence to SDLC, Agile/Scrum, DevOps, security, and documentation practices.
• Drive code reviews, design reviews, technical documentation, test coverage, and release readiness.
• Identify delivery risks, technical debt, quality gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve engineering productivity and delivery predictability.
• Maintain pro ject documentation, governance reports, release notes, and technical decision records.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, design patterns, APIs, microservices, and integration architecture.
• Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Experience with frontend or full-stack technologies such as React, Angular, or modern web frameworks is preferred.
• Good understanding of relational and NoSL databases, performance tuning, and data modelling concepts.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud.
• Understanding of DevOps practices including CI/CD, GitLab, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, backlog management, estimation, release planning, and engineering metrics.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
