Job summary

Canvendor is seeking an experienced PMO professional in Chennai to oversee governance, tracking and reporting for insurance projects. You will coordinate with business, IT and vendor teams, manage budgets and risks, and drive portfolio delivery with strong stakeholder management.

This role requires 5+ years in PMO, deep insurance domain knowledge, and proficiency with MS Project, Jira and Confluence. WFO in Chennai with immediate to 15 days start.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in Project Management / PMO roles.
• Strong experience in the Insurance domain.
• Familiar with underwriting, policy administration, claims, distribution and customer service.
• Experience managing IT, digital transformation or insurance technology projects.
• Proficient in project governance, reporting, risk management and stakeholder management.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid methodologies.
• Proficient with MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage project governance frameworks, standards and reporting processes.
• Track project plans, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues.
• Prepare and present project status reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Coordinate with business, IT and vendor teams across multiple projects.
• Monitor project budgets, resource utilization, timelines and delivery performance.
• Manage RAID logs and ensure timely resolution of risks and issues.
• Support project planning, prioritization and portfolio management activities.
• Ensure compliance with governance and delivery standards.
• Facilitate project review meetings and action item follow-up.
• Support insurance business and digital transformation initiatives.

Role Overview

• Proficiency in MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with Insurance Core Systems, Digital Platforms, or Enterprise Transformation Programs.
• Experience working with multiple business and technology stakeholders.
