Job summary

ABB Energy Industries seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities across projects in the Bangalore, India region. You will act as the design authority for electrical disciplines, coordinate in-house and outsourced teams, and ensure cost-effective execution of engineering tasks on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• 10-15 years of relevant experience in the design, selection, and engineering of electrical systems and equipment.
• Strong expertise in: Switchgear, Transformers, Substations
• Experience in the selection and specification of switchgear components.
• Proficient in the preparation and review of Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
• Experience in preparing technical offers and proposals.
• Strong understanding and development of electrical engineering drawings and layouts, including: Earthing Layouts, Lighting Layouts, Cable Sizing Calculations, Cable Routing and Layout Drawings.
• Ability to develop, review, and interpret electrical layout drawings and engineering documentation.

• Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
• Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
• Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
• Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role contributes to Process Automation in the Energy division in the Bangalore, India region

You will be mainly accountable for:
