Job summary

ABB Energy Industries in Bangalore is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities and coordinate multi-discipline teams onsite. You will ensure efficient, cost-effective execution while mentoring engineers in translating concepts into documentation such as models, drawings and calculations.

You will drive design-for-excellence initiatives, lead discussions on electrical layouts and SLDs, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver robust electrical systems for energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering (B.E./B.Tech).
• 10–15 years of experience in design, selection and engineering of electrical systems and equipment.
• Strong expertise in switchgear, transformers and substations.
• Experience in selection and specification of switchgear components.
• Proficient in preparation and review of Electrical Single Line Diagrams (SLDs).
• Experience in preparing technical offers and proposals.
• Strong ability to develop, review and interpret electrical layout drawings and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities to address issues and rectify engineering errors.
• Coach project engineers and designers on translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation (modelling, prototyping, calculations).
• Lead, supervise and coordinate teams (less than 10 members) across engineering disciplines on projects.
• Apply design thinking and design-for-excellence concepts (modelling, prototyping, simulation, calculations).
