Job summary

Mounee Consulting Services is seeking a Project Engineer/Manager for Shimla on-site to oversee installation, commissioning and maintenance of SCADA-enabled substations within the power transmission network.

The role requires coordinating with utilities, consultants and vendors, leading teams, and ensuring safety, reliability and regulatory compliance across HV/EHV systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-5+ years in substation operations, maintenance, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and automation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems at site.
• Oversee Installation, Commissioning, Testing, Training & O&M of RTU/FRTU, LDMS, MPLS.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, IEC, NERC, OSHA, NFPA and local regulations.
• Develop safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
• Coordinate with utilities, consultants, SCADA team and vendors.
• Lead site engineers and maintenance staff; prepare operational reports.
• Ensure cybersecurity for substation automation and protection systems.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee the Installation & Commissioning operation, maintenance of electrical substations SCADA enablers like (RTU, FRTU, LDMS, MPLS, etc) within the power transmission network. The ideal candidate will ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with industry standards while managing teams, coordinating with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement SCADA systems (Movicon, GE CIMPLICITY, Siemens WinCC, Wonderware or equivalent) at site.
• Installation and Commissioning (I&C), Testing, Training & Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of RTU, FRTU, LDMS, MPLS, etc
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NERC, OSHA, NFPA, and local regulations).
• Develop and implement safety procedures, risk assessments, and emergency response plans.
• Work with utilities, PMA (Consultant), SCADA Team and vendors for project execution and compliance.
• Work with site engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Prepare operational reports, performance analysis.
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity protocols for substation automation and protection systems.

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years or more of experience in substation operations, maintenance, or construction.
• Strong knowledge of substation equipment, protection systems, SCADA, and automation technologies.
• Experience with high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) transmission systems.
• Familiarity with relay coordination, fault analysis, and power system stability.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency in substation design software, maintenance management systems, and SCADA platforms.
