Job summary

Evergreen Creations is seeking an experienced Substation Automation Engineer to design, develop, test, and commission SAS across India. You will configure RTUs, PLCs, and IEC-compliant protocols, ensure system reliability, and coordinate with customers and OEMs on site.

You must have extensive field experience with testing and commissioning, strong knowledge of IEC standards, and the ability to work across industrial facilities, substations, and data centers. Willingness to travel is essential.

Qualifications

• 14 years of experience in Substation Automation Engineering or related field.
• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical/E&C/Instrumentation from a recognized institution.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards for Substation Automation Systems design and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and commission SAS using IEC standards.
• Configure RTUs, PLCs, and protocols for data exchange across devices.
• Perform FAT, SAT, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot issues in substation automation systems and networks.
• Configure and integrate IEDs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and gateways.
• Prepare engineering documents and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate with customers, site teams, and OEMs during projects.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, quality standards, and safety.

Job description

Base Location: Delhi NCR

Willingness to Travel / Site Work

• Must be willing to travel extensively and work at project sites across India for testing, commissioning, and support activities.
• Comfortable working in industrial facilities, substations, renewable energy plants, and data center environments.

Role & responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and commission Substation Automation Systems (SAS) using IEC standards and industry best practices.
• Configure RTUs, PLCs, and communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101/104, and IEC 61850 for seamless data exchange between devices.
• Perform FAT, SAT, testing, and commissioning activities to ensure proper system functionality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to substation automation systems, communication networks, and field devices.
• Configure and integrate IEDs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and communication gateways.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documents, communication databases, and commissioning reports.
• Coordinate with customers, site teams, and OEMs during project execution and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

• 14 years of experience in Substation Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. degree from a recognized institution (Electrical / E&C / Instrumentation ).
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards for Substation Automation Systems design and implementation.
• Experience working on TCP/IP protocols for remote monitoring and control.
• Hands‑on experience with RTU, PLC, SCADA systems, and communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP and IEC 60870-5-101/104.
• Exposure to testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for substation automation systems.
• Good understanding of industrial networking and communication architectures.
• Willingness to travel for site testing and commissioning activities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
