Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking a Project Engineer in the Global Facilities (GFS) unit. The role covers full project life cycle from concept to closeout, including planning, budgeting, and coordination with remote client teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in engineering, 10+ years of PM experience (3+ in consulting), and strong scheduling/communication skills. PMP is preferred. Full‑time position based in Bengaluru, with no travel requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or institute.
• 10 years of project-management experience including at least 3 years in consulting.
• PMP certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge and experience in developing project schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in contract negotiations.
• Arrange/attend interdepartmental meetings, document minutes, and take appropriate action.
• Prepare and monitor department‑wise pending point lists weekly to control design inputs and overall project schedule.
• Manage projects from concept to completion, including siting, planning, estimating, engineering, project controls, bid‑phase services, procurement, constructability reviews, and closeout.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs in EcoSys.
• Measure target and actual progress; monitor and take corrective action.
• Assist with internal project financials, staffing, change management, and human‑resource issues.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned project engineering activities.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and client satisfaction while following internal QA/QC guidelines.
• Report on engineering progress, highlighting scope, schedule, and budget performance.
• Maintain records of change requests, raise change notices, and finalize change orders.
• Prepare project close‑out reports.
• Support the project manager on multiple projects, coordinating with remote US client‑facing teams from project handover to delivery.
• Support recruitment and retention efforts to grow the project management team.
