Qualifications

Burns & McDonnell India Global Facility Services (GFS) Division offers exciting opportunities for Associate Senior Electrical Engineers to advance their careers in high‑tech building design, focusing on Food & Beverages, Consumer Goods, Life Science, Technology, Data Centers and Commercial Facilities. The Global Facilities Group is looking for an experienced and energetic candidate to lead electrical engineering and design activities in our Mumbai and Bengaluru offices, supporting projects primarily in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and equipment to provide a useful and safe workplace.
• Advise clients on electrical systems/requirements and compliance with safety codes.
• Monitor installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety codes.
• Participate in developing design criteria for protective device coordination, relay applications, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, medium and low voltage distribution.
• Review electrical designs and specifications of equipment or systems being purchased or fabricated.
• Conduct fault studies, arc flash, harmonic analysis, motor starting and load flow analysis; develop design criteria for protective device coordination, relay selection, medium voltage transformers, switchgear, medium and low voltage distribution.
• Perform independent design calculations for electrical equipment such as transformers, DG sets, cables (HV & LV), lighting, grounding, AC/DC UPS, NGR and capacitor sizing.
• Provide electrical design direction and resource management on multi‑discipline projects.
• Develop concept studies, designs, detailed single line diagrams (SLD) for HV/LV systems, layouts for power, grounding, lighting and narratives.
• Enforce standards and practices.
• Collaborate with a senior electrical engineer to support design activities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of all applicable standards and codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), and strong computer skills for electrical designs.
• Experience with SPELL, ETAP/SKM, Dialux/Visual software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design, installation, and maintenance of electrical distribution systems.
• Working knowledge of control systems and fundamental communication interfaces.
• Demonstrated abilities as a project discipline lead.
• Experience with data center or telecommunications facility.
• Knowledge of critical facility design and infrastructure.
• Sound understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC), 70E, 75, 101, 780 and other applicable sections and standards such as IEEE and IEC.
