Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids seeks a Project Documentation Specialist for HVDC Services to manage and maintain all technical project documents through the lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards and client requirements.

You will develop and implement document control processes, log and distribute drawings, specifications and reports, coordinate with engineering and QA teams, and provide training on DMS usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a non-engineering discipline is required.
• 2–5 years experience in document control or project documentation.
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced project environment.

The opportunity:

The Project Documentation Specialist for HVDC Services will manage, organize, and maintain all technical and project-related documentation throughout the lifecycle of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) projects, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with company standards and client requirements.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Develop, implement, and maintain document control processes and procedures for HVDC projects, including document numbering, revision control, and distribution.
• Receive, log, track, and distribute all incoming and outgoing project documentation, including drawings, specifications, reports, manuals, and correspondence.
• Ensure timely review, approval, and release of project documents in collaboration with engineering, project management, and quality assurance teams.
• Utilize and manage document management systems (DMS) effectively, ensuring data integrity and user accessibility.
• Conduct regular audits of project documentation to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare and compile final project documentation packages (As-Built documentation) for handover to clients.
• Provide training and support to project team members on document control procedures and DMS usage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements in documentation processes.
• Manage confidential and proprietary information with the highest level of discretion.

Your Background:

• Hold a bachelor's degree in a non-engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience in document control or project documentation, preferably within the power generation, transmission, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced project environment.
