Job summary

NetConnectGlobal is seeking an RPE Production Support Engineer to provide production support, automation and SRE capabilities across critical enterprise applications. Experience in Mainframe and distributed systems is highly preferred.

You will work in Linux environments with DB2, PostgreSQL, Snowflake and MongoDB, and write Python or Shell scripts for automation. You will join on-call rotations to ensure reliability of key systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL in IBM Mainframe/TSO environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, DB2, Snowflake, MongoDB or similar databases.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production trends, create metrics and perform root-cause analysis.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

• Production support, debugging and troubleshooting of COBOL, DB2 and JCL programs in IBM Mainframe / TSO environments.
• Experience working with Linux/Unix environments and distributed applications.
• Strong knowledge of Linux administration and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, DB2, Snowflake, MongoDB or similar databases.
• Strong understanding of SQL, Stored Procedures, Compound SQL, database scripting and data analysis.
• Experience in DB monitoring, performance tuning and production issue resolution.
• Hands-on scripting experience in Python and/or Shell scripting for automation and operational activities.
• Analyze production trends, create metrics and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop automation tools, monitoring solutions and SRE capabilities to reduce manual effort and operational toil.
• Collaborate with global technology, application and infrastructure teams.
• Participate in shift-based production support and on-call activities.

Good To Have

• Experience in Investment Banking / Financial Services / Banking Products.
• Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch / Elastic Stack or other monitoring and alerting tools.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub, Jenkins and CI/CD tools.
• Exposure to DevOps / SRE practices and tooling.
• Understanding of Cloud technologies AWS / Azure / GCP.
• Experience supporting both Mainframe and Distributed platforms is a strong advantage.
