Job summary

CloudXtreme in Bengaluru, India is seeking a Production Support professional to manage 24x7 operations for both mainframe and distributed applications. The role emphasizes incident handling, performance tuning, and cross-team collaboration to ensure high availability.

You will monitor, analyze, and resolve complex incidents, conduct RCA, and use APM tools to optimize system performance while supporting critical business cycles.

Qualifications

• Experience in mainframe production support environments.
• Hands-on COBOL/JCL/DB2 and VSAM/CICS knowledge.
• Familiarity with job scheduling tools such as Control-M.
• Proficient in ITIL processes for incident, problem and change management.
• Experience with log analysis and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational docs, run books, and knowledge base.

The role involves 24x7 production support, incident management, application monitoring, and performance troubleshooting using APM tools to ensure high availability and optimal system performance across platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 production support for mainframe and distributed applications
• Monitor batch, online, and distributed application environments to ensure system stability
• Analyze and resolve production incidents across platforms (mainframe and distributed)
• Perform abend analysis, job restarts, and root cause analysis (RCA)
• Use Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools to identify performance bottlenecks and proactively prevent incidents
• Support performance tuning, capacity planning, and availability improvements
• Coordinate with development, infrastructure, middleware, and database teams for issue resolution
• Support critical business cycles (month-end, quarter-end, year-end)
• Ensure SLA adherence and compliance with ITIL processes
• Maintain operational documentation, run books, and knowledge base articles

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Mainframe technology
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2
• Experience with VSAM, CICS
• Knowledge of job scheduling tools ( Control-M)
• Hands-on experience in distributed application production support
• Experience using Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Thousand Eyes, or similar
• Strong skills in incident, problem, and change management (ITIL)
• Experience with log analysis, monitoring, and alerting tools

Good to Have

• Exposure to middleware technologies (WebSphere, MQ, Tomcat, Kafka, etc.)
• Exposure to Cloud Technologies (PCF Preferred)
• Knowledge of scripting (Shell, Python, or REXX)
• Experience in BFSI or other high-availability environments
• Understanding of cloud or hybrid infrastructure
