About the Role
SwishX is looking for a Production Support Engineer to join our Bangalore office. This role sits at the intersection of quality assurance, release validation, and customer issue resolution. You will work closely with the engineering team to ensure that new product features and releases are thoroughly tested, stable in production, and able to deliver a smooth customer experience.
This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, technically strong, and comfortable digging into code to identify issues before and after release. Since the role also involves handling customer-facing production issues, weekend availability is an important part of the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform QA and release validation for new product features and updates shipped by the engineering team.
- Review product behavior, workflows, and edge cases to identify defects, regressions, and usability issues before release.
- Investigate issues in the codebase and collaborate with engineers to isolate root causes.
- Work with systems and services written in Python and Go, and be comfortable reading and understanding the code to spot issues.
- Reproduce bugs reported internally or by customers and provide clear documentation for resolution.
- Support production issue triage and coordinate with relevant teams for timely fixes.
- Monitor and respond to customer-facing issues, ensuring strong follow-through and communication.
- Participate in weekend support coverage as part of the role to address urgent production or customer-impacting issues.
- Maintain test cases, QA checklists, and support documentation to improve release quality and incident response.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in production support, QA engineering, application support, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of software QA, testing workflows, and release validation.
- Ability to read, understand, and debug code written in Python and Go.
- Experience identifying issues across backend services, APIs, and product workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to clearly document bugs, findings, and customer issues.
- Comfortable working closely with engineering and product teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to provide weekend support coverage when required.
- Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
Good to Have
- Experience working in startup environments.
- Familiarity with debugging production systems, logs, and incident workflows.
- Experience with test planning, regression testing, and release sign‑off processes.
- Exposure to customer support or handling live production incidents.
What We’re Looking For
- Someone who enjoys finding issues before customers do.
- Someone who can move comfortably between QA, code review, and production issue investigation.
- Someone reliable, hands‑on, and calm under pressure.
- Someone who takes ownership of product quality and customer experience.
- Role Type: Full-time
- Location: Work from Office, HSR Layout, Bangalore
- Availability: Includes weekend support coverage as part of the role
