We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineer with 5-6 years of industrial experience in aerospace manufacturing special processes. The candidate will be responsible for supporting production activities, process control, data preparation, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives related to Thermal Spray, Waterjet Cutting, Ultrasonic Shot Peening, and Precision Grinding operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Process Execution
- Execute and monitor aerospace special processes in compliance with approved process specifications, work instructions, customer requirements, and quality standards.
- Support daily production activities related to:
- Thermal Spray Coating
- Waterjet Cutting
- Ultrasonic Shot Peening (USP)
- Precision Grinding
- Ensure process parameters are maintained within specified limits and recorded accurately.
- Assist in machine setup, process qualification, and process optimization activities.
- Support First Article Inspection (FAI) and production validation activities.
Process Control & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing dossiers, process records, routing sheets, and production documentation.
- Generate and update process instructions, setup sheets, control plans, and operational standards.
- Ensure complete traceability of parts and process records as per aerospace requirements.
- Maintain production and quality data in ERP/MES systems.
Data Preparation & Reporting
- Prepare production reports, KPI dashboards, performance metrics, and management presentations.
- Perform data collection, analysis, and trend monitoring to support operational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets, trackers, and databases using Microsoft Excel.
- Support root cause analysis through statistical data interpretation and reporting.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards, customer requirements, Nadcap requirements, and internal quality procedures.
- Participate in internal audits, process audits, and customer audits.
- Support non-conformance investigations and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Assist in process capability studies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, process enhancement, cost optimization, and productivity improvement.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen activities.
- Support implementation of best practices and operational excellence initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for cycle-time reduction, process enhancement, cost optimization, and productivity improvement.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen activities.
- Support implementation of best practices and operational excellence initiatives.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support engineering teams during industrialization and process transfer projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding process performance and production status.
Required Technical Skills
Special Process Knowledge
Hands-on experience in at least three of the following:
- Thermal Spray Coating (APS, HVOF, Plasma Spray preferred)
- Waterjet Cutting
- Ultrasonic Shot Peening
- Precision Grinding
- Process parameter monitoring and control
Aerospace manufacturing practices and quality requirements
Quality & Manufacturing
- Interpretation of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Understanding of aerospace quality systems and documentation.
- Knowledge of inspection methods, process capability, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with FMEA, Control Plans, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, and CAPA methodologies.
Computer & Data Skills
- Strong proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Charts, Data Analysis)
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft Teams
- Data preparation, reporting, dashboard creation, and KPI tracking
- ERP/MES systems (SAP preferred)
