Job summary

Ratcone Engineering Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to own shop-floor production from receipt of fabrication drawings to dispatch-ready structures. You will manage laser cutting operations, in-house machining, and external fabrication contractors, ensuring production aligns with drawings, schedule, and quality.

Ideal candidates have 8–12 years in PEB shed manufacturing or structural steel fabrication, with strong drawing reading skills and experience supervising

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
• 8-12 years hands-on production experience in PEB shed manufacturing or structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret structural/fabrication drawings; tested at interview.
• Experience supervising welding/fabrication contractors and shop-floor manpower.
• Knowledge of laser/plasma cutting operations and material planning preferred.

Responsibilities

• Study and interpret technical structural drawings and plan daily production.
• Plan and supervise laser cutting operations, nesting priorities, material allocation, tagging and traceability.
• Oversee cut material transfer to fabrication teams and external contractors; supervise fit-up, welding, chipping and painting.
• Coordinate with Design Engineer on drawing clarifications and with QC on stage clearances.
• Set and achieve daily/weekly production targets; report progress against project schedules.
• Monitor material consumption, minimize scrap and off-cuts through nesting and planning.
• Manage manpower: machine operators, helpers and contractor teams; allocate work.
• Ensure machine upkeep and coordinate with maintenance; report breakdowns and follow up.
• Enforce safety discipline on the shop floor (PPE, crane operations, hot work).

About the Company:

Ratcone Engineering Pvt Ltd is a growing steel fabrication and Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) company executing industrial sheds, warehouses and heavy structural fabrication projects. Our plant is equipped with a 12 kW laser cutting machine, CNC and VMC machines, press brake, lathes and EOT cranes.

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to take full ownership of shop-floor production from receipt of fabrication drawings to dispatch-ready structures. You will manage laser cutting operations, in-house machining, and external fabrication contractors (fit-up, welding, chipping, painting), ensuring production runs to drawing, to schedule and to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study and interpret technical structural/fabrication drawings (GA drawings, part drawings, DXF cutting profiles) and plan daily production accordingly
• Plan and supervise laser cutting operations - nesting priorities, material allocation, cut-part tagging and traceability
• Hand over cut material to fabrication teams/external contractors and supervise fit-up, welding, chipping and painting activities
• Coordinate with the Design Engineer on drawing clarifications and with QC on stage clearances
• Set and achieve daily/weekly production targets; report progress against project schedules
• Monitor material consumption, minimize scrap and off-cuts through efficient nesting and planning
• Manage manpower - machine operators, helpers and contractor teams; allocate work and monitor productivity
• Ensure machine upkeep in coordination with maintenance; report breakdowns and follow up on resolution
• Enforce safety discipline on the shop floor (PPE, crane operations, hot work)

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
• 8-12 years of hands-on production experience in PEB shed manufacturing / structural steel fabrication (mandatory)
• Strong ability to read and interpret structural and fabrication drawings - this will be tested at interview
• Experience supervising welding/fabrication contractors and shop-floor manpower
• Working knowledge of laser/plasma cutting operations, nesting and material planning preferred
• Familiarity with fabrication quality norms (fit-up tolerances, weld sizes, painting/DFT) preferred
