Job summary

DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems IC in Coimbatore invites a senior mechanical assembly production leader to optimize safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets. You will plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules; coordinate manpower, materials, machines, and documentation; and drive continuous improvement with Lean, 5S, and Kaizen.

Qualifications

• BE/ME required with 12–16 years of experience in mechanical assembly production.
• Experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating manpower, materials, machines, tools, and documentation.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, 8D CAPA, IPC standards, ESD and EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical assembly production to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity targets.
• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Coordinate with Planning, SCM, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Test, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and waste reduction.
• Review production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.

Job Description

• Lead end-to-end mechanical assembly production to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity targets.
• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments.
• Ensure production readiness by coordinating manpower, materials, machines, tools, and documentation.
• Manage production activities for mechanical assembly stations, including enclosure assembly, sub-assembly, final assembly, and packaging.
• Monitor production KPIs such as OEE, FPY, UPH, productivity, on-time delivery, and line efficiency.
• Optimize manpower allocation, line balancing, and workstation ergonomics to maximize throughput.
• Coordinate with Planning, SCM, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Test, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and waste reduction.
• Lead root cause analysis (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D) and implement CAPA for production and quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, SOPs, IPC standards, ESD, and EHS requirements.
• Manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR), production ramp-up, and NPI builds with minimal disruption to ongoing production.
• Review production performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce cycle time.
• Develop team competency through training, skill matrix management, performance reviews, and operator certification.
• Support customer visits, audits, validation builds, and production readiness reviews while ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
• Prepare and present daily production reports, KPI dashboards, action plans, and continuous improvement updates to management.
