Position: Production Manager
Experience Required: 3–6 Years
Location: Mumbai (Manufacturing Plant)
Employment Type: Full-time
Expected Salary: INR 25,000 – 40,000 per month (based on experience)
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Production Manager to oversee all manufacturing operations at Sansui Paints. The role involves production planning, quality control, team supervision, safety compliance, and process optimization — ensuring that the company's specialty wood coating product range is produced on time, at the right quality, and within cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Manage production of all product lines — impregnators, oil blockers, isolators, sealers, and top coats
- Ensure production targets are met in terms of quantity, quality, and timelines
- Coordinate with the Accounts Executive for raw material availability and procurement planning
- Maintain batch documentation and production records for all manufactured lots
Quality Control
- Oversee quality checks at every stage of the production process
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications
- Coordinate with the Lab Technician on formulation testing, quality benchmarks, and shade accuracy
- Handle customer complaints related to product quality and drive root cause analysis and corrective action
Team & Resource Management
- Supervise production staff, operators, and lab personnel on the production floor
- Allocate manpower and equipment resources efficiently across shifts
- Identify training needs and upskill team members on new formulations and processes
- Maintain shift logs, daily production reports, and team performance records
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce health and safety protocols across the entire production floor without exception
- Ensure compliance with environmental and chemical handling regulations
- Conduct regular safety audits, drills, and incident reviews
- Maintain all machinery through preventive maintenance schedules to avoid downtime
Process Improvement
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement structured improvement plans
- Reduce material waste and optimize raw material utilization
- Support scale‑up of new product formulations from lab to production floor
- Coordinate with the technical implementation partner on process documentation
Required Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Paint Technology, or related field
- Certification in Production or Operations Management is a plus
Experience
- 3–6 years in production management in a paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing company
- Hands‑on experience with wood coating or specialty coatings strongly preferred
- Proven track record of managing production teams and consistently meeting output targets
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of paint formulations and manufacturing processes for coatings
- Familiarity with quality control instruments and testing procedures
- Understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and EHS regulations
- Basic MS Office proficiency for reporting and documentation
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills on the production floor
- Problem‑solving and decision‑making ability under time pressure
- High accountability and ownership of production output and quality
- Clear cross‑functional communication with accounts, logistics, and lab teams

Reporting Structure
This role reports to the Managing Director / CEO and manages the Lab Technician, production operators, and coordinates with Logistics, Inventory, and Accounts teams.
