Job summary

Aarjay Bioenergy in Akaltara, India, seeks an experienced Plant Production Leader to run daily pellet production, supervise the complete line, and ensure quality per plant specs. The role entails shift planning, maintenance planning and cost control across the biomass line.

You will coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors, manage 30–50 shop-floor workers in a rural factory setting, and ensure safety and discipline on site. Based at Akaltara with Hindi proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in mechanical, electrical or production engineering.
• 6–10 years in plant production with biomass pellet/m briquette experience or similar process industry.
• Hands-on knowledge of pellet mill, hammer mill, dryer and material handling equipment.
• Strong maintenance and troubleshooting — coordinate with fitters and electricians.
• Experience managing 30–50 shop-floor workers in a rural factory setting.
• Willing to work in shifts and be based at Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa.
• Working knowledge of Hindi essential.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day pellet production at the Akaltara plant with shift planning, output targets and manpower deployment.
• Operate and supervise the complete line: raw material handling, chipping/grinding, drying, pelletising, cooling, screening and packing/loading.
• Ensure pellet quality meets power-plant specs; coordinate daily lab testing and keep batch records.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance and minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Manage raw material yard: receipt, weighment, moisture control, stacking and FIFO of paddy straw and biomass.
• Monitor and reduce cost of production: power consumption, fuel, spares, wastage.
• Enforce safety, fire prevention, housekeeping and statutory norms on shop floor.
• Supervise operators, helpers, electricians and fitters; manage training, attendance and discipline.
• Coordinate with machinery vendor for AMC, spares and technical support.
• Daily production, stock and downtime reporting to GM/directors.

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance die/roller changes, hammer mill screens, dryer, conveyors, electricals; minimise breakdowns and downtime
• Manage raw material yard — receipt, weighment, moisture control, stacking and FIFO use of paddy straw and other biomass
• Monitor and reduce cost of production — power consumption per ton, fuel for dryer, spares, wastage
• Enforce safety, fire prevention (dust/dry biomass), housekeeping and statutory norms on the shop floor
• Supervise operators, helpers, electricians and fitters; training, attendance and discipline
• Coordinate with machinery vendor for AMC, spares and technical support
• Daily production, stock and downtime reporting to the General Manager/directors

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma/B.E. in Mechanical, Electrical or Production Engineering
• 6–10 years in plant production, with at least 2–3 years in a biomass pellet/briquette plant, or in rice mill, feed mill, cement, sponge iron or similar process industry
• Hands-on knowledge of pellet mill, hammer mill, dryer and material-handling equipment preferred
• Strong on maintenance and troubleshooting — able to work with fitters and electricians directly
• Experience managing 30–50 shop-floor workers in a rural factory setting
• Willing to work in shifts and be based at Akaltara, Janjgir-Champa
• Working knowledge of Hindi essential
