Job summary

S And S Speciality Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. seeks a Production Executive and Shift Incharge at its Vapi plant. The candidate will supervise reactors, distillation setups, and other production equipment to achieve the daily production plan with strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, a background in chemistry or chemical engineering, and the ability to work in rotating shifts. Knowledge of GMP and industrial safety is essential.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Chemistry or Diploma/B.E. in Chemical Engineering required.
• 3–5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
• Ability to read Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Operate reactors, distillation columns, vacuum systems, crystallizers, filtration systems per SOPs.
• Execute daily production activities to meet quantity, quality and delivery targets.
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow, batch timings).
• Ensure proper charging of raw materials as per BMR.
• Maintain production records, batch sheets, log books, shift reports.

A) General Information

Reporting To: Manager - Production Manager

Position: Production Exective and Shift Incharge

Location: Plot No. 801/20, 789/4 & 789/4(GS), GIDC III Phase, Vapi, Dist. Valsad, Gujarat

Educational Qualification:

B.Sc. (Chemistry) / Diploma or B.E. in Chemical Engineering

Work Experience: 3-5 Years

Age Group: 25-32 Years

Preferred Industry: Chemical Manufacturing / Oil Processing Industry

Specialty Chemicals / Chemical Manufacturing / Distillation Plant

Key Job Responsibilities

• Operate reactors, distillation columns, vacuum systems, crystallizers, filtration systems and other production equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Execute daily production activities as per production plan to achieve quantity, quality and delivery targets.
• Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, flow and batch timings during production.
• Ensure proper charging of raw materials as per approved Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR).
• Maintain production records, batch sheets, log books and shift reports accurately.
• Perform equipment cleaning and line clearance before and after production.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify process abnormalities and immediately report deviations to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.
• Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) for sampling, testing and batch release.
• Coordinate with Maintenance department for breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
• Minimize production losses, wastage and downtime through efficient plant operation.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and transfer of hazardous chemicals.
• Maintain housekeeping of the production area as per 5S standards.
• Assist in process improvement and productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Participate in shift handover by communicating production status and pending activities.
• Support internal, customer and statutory audits whenever required.
• Perform any other production-related duties assigned by the Production Manager.

C) Knowledge & Skills Required

• Good knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes.
• Hands-on experience in reactors, distillation systems, filtration, crystallization and utility operations.
• Knowledge of hazardous chemical handling and industrial safety.
• Basic understanding of PLC/SCADA-operated plants will be an added advantage.
• Ability to read Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Basic troubleshooting skills for production equipment.
• Good understanding of quality systems and process discipline.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing concepts is desirable.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts.
