Job summary

Mechcareer is seeking a Production Manager for our Islampur, Sangli facility. You will plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production schedules while closely monitoring plan vs. actual performance and taking corrective actions.

The role involves managing manpower, shifts, attendance, and productivity, and guiding Shift In-Charges and teams to optimise resources. You will ensure SOPs, quality and safety standards are met, drive 5S and Kaizen initiatives, manage deviations with effective

• Diploma / BE / BTech in mechanical/production/industrial engineering or related manufacturing discipline.
• Local candidates from Islampur, Sangli, Kolhapur and nearby areas preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
• Monitor planned vs. actual production and take corrective actions.
• Manage manpower deployment, shift planning, attendance and productivity.
• Lead and guide Shift In-Charges and production teams.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials and resources.
• Monitor OEE, downtime, output, scrap, rejection and productivity.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Ensure proper material utilization, WIP control and reduction of wastage.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, safety requirements and QMS.
• Drive 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement and waste reduction.
• Handle production and quality deviations with corrective actions.
• Maintain proper shift handover and accurate production reports.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, Dispatch, Supply Chain, R&D, Operations and HR teams.
• Identify recurring production issues and implement sustainable solutions.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech. – Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or relevant manufacturing discipline

Preferred Industry Experience

Bioplastic / Polymer / Rubber / Plastic / Manufacturing

Preferred: Candidates with 5+ years of manufacturing/production experience and hands-on experience in shift handling or production leadership. Local candidates from Islampur, Sangli, Kolhapur and nearby locations will be preferred.
