Job summary

Excel Hr Services is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (BE/BTech/ME/MTech) to lead automation projects in heavy manufacturing. The role emphasizes concept design, 3D modelling with SolidEdge, and FEA analysis using NX.

You will coordinate across departments and vendors, driving digital transformation and practical product realization. The candidate should possess strong leadership, communication, and project planning abilities, with a grounding in welding and fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech / ME / MTech (Mechanical) with relevant background.
• Design and development of automation projects in heavy manufacturing.
• Knowledge of mechanical and structural design principles.
• Concept design, 3D modelling and drawing using SolidEdge or any reputed CAD.
• Structural FEA simulation using NX or similar software.
• Knowledge of design and development of special purpose machines, jigs & fixtures.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
• Strong communication, leadership, time management and project planning skills; basic estimation & costing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation projects for heavy manufacturing.
• Support IoT, digitalisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Translate user requirements into workable concepts and finalize design to reality, including RFP, bid-tabs, procurement, implementation and trials.
• Commissioning, training, and preparation of operational and maintenance manuals for handover.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across departments, vendors and sub-contractors to execute activities.

Job description

Qualification: BE/Btech ME/Mtech (Mechanical)

1. Design and development of automation projects in Heavy Manufacturing Industry.
2. Support loT, Digitalisation and Digital Transformation projects.
3. Transforming user's requirements to a workable concept and further conversion of a finalized concept to reality, which detailed design, preparation of RFP, bid-tabs, procurement, implementation, and trials.
4. Commissioning, training, preparation of operational and maintenance manual for hand-over.
5. Communication and co-ordination across all stakeholders involving various departments, functions, vendors and sub-contractors for activities mentioned above.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Knowledge of mechanical and structural design
2. Concept design, 3D modelling and Drawing using Solidedge or any reputed CAD platforms
3. Structural FEA simulation using NX or similar softwares
4. Knowledge on design and development of special purpose machines, jigs & fixtures
5. Knowledge of different types of welding and other fabrication processes
6. Good communication and interpersonal & leadership skills, Innovative mindset, time management and project planning / execution skills and basics of estimation and costing

Preferable skills

1. Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes like 3D printing, high speed welding etc.
2. Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
3. Design Thinking
4. Understanding of GD&T and know-how on material standards and standard mechanical components
5. Vendor development and coordination with vendor for technical assessment & development including legal aspects like IP protection etc.
6. Molit to Troubleshoot problem in challenging Shop-floor environment Know-how on AUMLAR/VR/RPA/API/IOT and basics of Data science
