Job summary

Mtar Technologies in Telangana, India seeks a Production Engineer to plan and supervise high-volume sheet metal production involving brazing, TIG welding, and mechanical assembly. You will drive efficiency, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while leading shop-floor teams.

The role requires deep hands-on experience in brazing and welding, with strong planning, process improvement, and ERP/Microsoft Excel skills to optimize materials, capacity, and line balance.

Qualifications

• 25 years of relevant experience in high-volume sheet metal manufacturing.
• Experience in production planning, manpower management, line balancing, quality control, and continuous improvement is preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM practices will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan and monitor daily production activities for brazing, TIG welding, and assembly operations.
• Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and resources.
• Monitor line balancing, cycle time, machine capacity, and productivity to maximize efficiency.
• Supervise shop floor personnel and ensure compliance with SOPs, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
• Ensure brazing, TIG welding, and assembly processes meet quality standards and process parameters.
• Conduct first-piece approval, in-process inspections, and corrective actions to minimize rejection and rework.
• Analyze production bottlenecks, downtime, and process issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Stores to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Ensure availability of tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, welding consumables, and production materials.
• Prepare and review daily production, rejection, downtime, and productivity reports.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, waste elimination, cycle time reduction, and continuous improvement.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and production trials.
• Train and mentor operators on process standards, quality requirements, and safe work practices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality systems, and EHS requirements.

Job Purpose :

To plan, coordinate, and supervise high-volume sheet metal production involving brazing, TIG welding, and mechanical assembly, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, cost, and delivery objectives.

Qualifications

Experience

• 25 years of relevant experience in high-volume sheet metal manufacturing with hands-on exposure to brazing, TIG welding, and mechanical assembly.
• Experience in production planning, manpower management, line balancing, quality control, and continuous improvement is preferred.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM practices will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, brazing, TIG welding, and mechanical assembly processes.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, welding symbols, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Understanding of production planning, line balancing, capacity utilization, and shop floor control.
• Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts including 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and TPM.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
